Group Sales & Catering Manager @ Autocamp!

As a Group Sales & Catering Manager for AutoCamp you’ll be responsible for ensuring that Group Revenue goals are exceeded and on-property events are executed beyond expectations. This position is responsible for servicing, coordinating, detailing and executing a 5-Star “Wow” experience for all groups on property. A successful AutoCamp Group Sales & Catering Manager will also “hunt” for profitable group business by soliciting, developing and most importantly closing group business in the SMERF segment.

Essential Functions

  • Finalizes details of all group bookings. Coordinates catering with outside vendors, and insures all operational departments are notified of groups and group activities to create a 5-Star “Wow” experience for group clients

  • Creating awareness of groups in all internal staff, communicating information with other property departments in a timely manner to facilitate efficient purchasing, scheduling and staffing.

  • Inspect the set-up of meeting and banquet functions, checking them against the Banquet Event Order.

  • Supervise and assist with the set-up of assigned catered functions, ensuring that the hotel’s standards are met, and advance preparation for service is adequate to allow efficient service to the guest once the function begins.

  • Act as liaison between Sales/Catering Manager and the in-house meeting or banquet contact.

  • Perform targeted outbound solicitation of SMERF group business to strategically grow overall property revenue and profit.

  • Consistently booking repeat business

  • Aggressively pursuing new accounts/business on a weekly basis.

  • Develop long term business relationships

  • Making on-property and field presentations to prospective clients.

  • Establish relationships and network with key 3rd parties to garner a robust volume of qualified lead referrals for group business.

  • Meet and exceed quarterly and annual booking goals.

  • Track and measure all sales activity by tracking all leads from inquiry to final billing.

  • Create a 5-star experience for potential clients during site visits.

  • Maintains up-to-date awareness of area activities, market trends and industry events.

  • Promote awareness of our brand internally and externally. By networking with third party referral sources as well as attending appropriate trade shows

  • In conjunction with Basecamp support, maintain and maximize relationships with local Chamber of Commerce and Convention/Visitors Bureau.

  • Greet and welcome guests by speaking in a warm, friendly and courteous manner.

  • Respond to guests' needs in a timely manner. Communicate problems/issues to the Operations Manager, General Manager and/or Sales Manager

  • Provide service of all food and beverage programs in an efficient and friendly manner, and in accordance with Autocamp's policies.

  • Be familiar with banquet menus and prices.

  • Hold pre-function meetings, and check staffing and menus, prior to events.

  • Prepare banquet checks and obtain signatures from guest contacts.

  • Prepare for and lead property site inspections at the request of clients.

  • Assist in managing relationships with 3rd party caterers/event companies with On-Property Leadership and BaseCamp Support team.

  • Supervise the breakdown and clean up of all functions assigned.

  • Assist in set up of audio/visual, as necessary.

  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with all Supervisors and Associates, and support team to reach common goals.

  • Represents AutoCamp professionally

Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • At least 1 year prior hotel sales manager/coordinator experience or conference service manager experience.

  • Experience preferably selling NE coastal vacation destinations.

  • Prior hotel call center or front desk experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Cloud Based Applications; knowledge of Google Suite products preferred.

  • Ability to solve problems creatively with limited resources, must be a MacGyver

Salary Description

$60-65,000 per year + generous bonus plan
